How much can the 2018 Nissan Frontier tow?

Most people know about the Nissan TITAN’s incredible towing capacity of nearly 10,000 lbs. With that kind of strength, it can be easy for a smaller pickup to be overshadowed a bit. The Nissan Frontier is like the little brother of the TITAN. Depending on your needs, the Frontier has more than enough power to help you get your job done. When properly equipped, the 2018 Frontier can pull up to 6,500 lbs. Check out some more performance specs below.

2018 Nissan Frontier engine performance

What is largely responsible for a truck’s towing ability is torque. Torque is the twisting force that causes rotation in your engine that then results in towing power. The base engine on the Nissan Frontier produces 171 pound-foot of torque from its 2.5-liter inline-four-cylinder engine. This base engine is powered by 152 horses. Drivers with this motor will be able to pull around 3,000-4,000 lbs. If you want to access the Frontier’s maximum towing capacity, you will have to upgrade the engine, for starters. A 4.0-liter V6 engine with 261 horsepower and 281 pound-foot of torque is available to those who want some extra strength.

Mid-size pickups are great because they have the dependability features we need from trucks but they are also easier to maneuver.  Full-size trucks like the TITAN are great, but they are huge and bulky. Come check out the Nissan Frontier and see for yourself how capable it is!
