What are the Engine Options for the 2019 Nissan Altima?

When you’ve saved up enough to buy a new car it’s an exciting process. Maybe you look it up online and start to build it yourself, so you know what the ballpark cost might be and you start to build a little bit of hype. It can be disappointing to find out you don’t have any choice in some spots though.

Engines are one of the areas now where a lot of car companies might only offer one choice, especially when it comes to sedans. It’s just more cost effective to send everything out with the same basic engine, but you want more. Well if that is the case then look no further than the 2019 Nissan Altima which offers shoppers two different engines to choose from.

What are the Engine Options for the 2019 Nissan Altima?

The standard engine in the 2019 Nissan Altima is still a fun and sporty piece of machinery. Most Altima’s will sport a 2.5L inline-4 engine that is both efficient and powerful. It pumps out 188 horsepower and generates 180 lb-ft of torque. With all of that the Altima still gets a combined mpg of 32 so, you can forget about refueling every week, you’ll have plenty of time between pit stops.

If you’re a bit of an adrenaline junkie and need something more than that then don’t worry, the 2019 Nissan Altima has you covered. You can step up your game with a turbocharged 2.0L inline-4 engine. It’s a bit smaller, but that turbocharge isn’t a fancy marketing term. The new engine gets 248 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. It’s a serious upgrade indeed, but shouldn’t that affect its fuel economy? It is a bit lower, but just barely, with a combined 29 mpg.
