You see the price difference above, but it doesn’t stop there actually. That’s the base trim compared to the base trim. If you take that up the trim levels, you’ll find that the gap widens significantly as the top EcoSport costs over $6,000 more than the top trim of the Kicks.
With a name like EcoSport, you would think the Ford compact crossover would have better fuel economy, but alas, it falls far short of what the Kicks can achieve. Not only does this mean that the Kicks is more affordable with that lower base MSRP, but it is also more economical to drive, which is what people are typically looking for from a compact crossover.
Compact doesn’t have to mean cramped either. The Kicks provides ample room with its interior coming in at 94 cubic-feet. It may not be much larger than the EcoSport, but it is still larger with a little more front and rear headroom, and more front legroom as well.
Lastly, when it comes to safety features, the Kicks ends up being really impressive by including automatic emergency braking as a standard feature. You don’t have to sacrifice the safety of yourself and your passengers when getting the base trim of the Kicks. In fact, no matter what trim you buy on the EcoSport, this feature is not available.
