Though INFINITI vehicles are well-known for being exquisite, high-end automobiles, they can still blow you away with their engine performance. Everything from the exterior craftsmanship to the interior comfort is stunning. The Q50 is one of the smallest INFINITI vehicles in production, and, of course, it is beautifully designed. But perhaps what matters more is what’s under the hood. The fanciest car in the world isn’t worth much if its engine doesn’t do anything. Learn more about what powers the 2018 INFINITI Q50.

There are a few different engine options available on the Q50. The base motor still packs a hefty punch. Drivers of the 2.0t PURE and LUXE models will enjoy a 2.0-liter I4 engine with 208 horsepower. The base Q50 is the most efficient model as it averages up to 30 highway MPG and 23 in the city.

By moving up the trim levels to the 3.0t class, you will come across a larger, much more powerful engine. Both the 3.0t SPORT and LUXE showcase a 3.0-liter V6 engine powered by 300 horses. That is clearly a big upgrade from the base engine, but it does take a slight hit in efficiency (29 highway, 20 city).
Drivers who want to maximize their engine power should definitely check out the RED SPORT edition. The engine size is the same as the 3.0t SPORT and LUXE but with 100 more horses. That’s right, the INFINITI Q50 RED SPORT is powered by a whopping 400 horses. That added power dings the fuel economy just a bit. RED SPORT drivers will average up to 26 highway MPG and 20 city MPG.
