How much can I fit in the new Nissan Pathfinder?

The new Nissan Pathfinder is a special machine. All of Nissan’s SUV and crossover models are very spacious and feature plenty of room for cargo like groceries, furniture, and all sorts of items. Of course, that’s kind of what we expect from SUVs, right? They are supposed to offer more room than a car but less bulk than a truck. Keep reading to learn about the 2018 Pathfinder’s cargo specifications.

The ability to store cargo is a big deal for most SUV owners. What could be better than having enough space to store a dozen bags of groceries, duffle bags for a road trip, and wheel-suitcases for the drive to the airport? Sure, making room for packing cargo is also an art. If you pack strategically, you can maximize a small cargo area so it can fit more than initially thought, but wouldn’t it be easier to just have the space to begin with? Anway, sorry for stalling. The Nissan Pathfinder comes in with an initial cargo volume of 16.2 cubic feet, but that can be nearly quintupled to 79.5 cubic feet when seats are folded down. Of course, folding down seats cuts into the passenger volume (138 cubic feet), but it ensures that you have as much room as you need to keep cargo inside.

How does the Pathfinder’s cargo capacity compare to others?

The short answer—quite well. The near-80 cubic feet of space is more than the maximum cargo capacities of several of the Pathfinder’s top competitors. The Kia Sorento and Subaru Outback’s capacity goes up to 73 cubic feet, while the Dodge Journey can only hold 67 cubic feet of cargo. We promise that you will feel like you’re in a wide-open landscape inside the new Nissan Pathfinder.
