What is the Intelligent Around View Monitor on the new Pathfinder?

Safety innovations are always on the top of most automakers’ priority list. The Around View Monitor is just one of those innovations, and it’s pretty cool. Now, technology like this isn’t unique to the Pathfinder, but it is still something to take note of. Continue reading to learn more about it and other safety features on the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder.

2018 Nissan Pathfinder safety features

Probably the coolest modern feature found on many vehicles is the bird’s eye view that drivers can get of their car. By using composite imagery from different cameras placed around the vehicle, those inside the Pathfinder can see everything around the SUV at a moment’s notice. As cool as the Around View Monitor is, it isn’t the only available safety feature on the new Pathfinder.

Nissan intelligent mobility features

This available system of different features includes the Around View Monitor as well as three other technological safety enhancements.

Intelligent cruise control

This system can automatically adjust the Pathfinder’s speed as it measures the distance between you and the car in front of you. It maintains the same distance while changing speeds accordingly.

Rear cross traffic alert

To give you an even greater sense of awareness, rear cross traffic alert signals at you when a vehicle is sensed from behind your Pathfinder. Working with the backup camera, this system keeps your head on a swivel so you always know what’s behind you.

Blind spot warning

There’s a common theme here, isn’t there? Yep, it’s awareness. This alerts you when vehicles cross into your blind spots so you know when it’s safe to change lanes. Now, this should not be a substitute for checking your blind spots for yourself, but this acts as a nice… wait for it… safety net.
