2019 Nissan Altima details

Design

The most noticeable difference is in the exterior design. The 2019 Altima features a new honeycomb grille complete with the signature chrome v-motion frame. This is a very different look for the car and it alone pushes the Altima into a new generation. The height of the car has been lowered by 1.1 inches, its length has been extended by an inch, and it is just under an inch wider than its 2017 predecessor.

Other design changes include simplified boomerang lights, floating-look roof, single-panel moonroof, and new paint colors and finishes. Designers also dropped the cowl and hood line on the car.

Variable compression engine

In addition to its new design features, the 2019 Altima is coming with a brand new variable compression engine. This motor is an inline-four-cylinder of 2.5 liters. The automaker is also putting an available VC-Turbo engine under the Altima’s hood. Nissan expects the turbo engine to provide a double-digit increase in fuel economy which would be a very good thing for drivers’ wallets. The turbo option is powered by 248 horses and produces 273 pound-foot of torque. It is still unknown when the 2019 Altima will be available on lots, so check back soon for updates!
