Apple CarPlay vs. Android Auto 

You have likely heard all about the infotainment programs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. They are both innovative, modern marvels of automotive technology that keep us informed and entertained. They both do so by connecting to your compatible smartphone. Each system can access certain applications from your phone and display them on your car’s front monitor. Keep reading to learn more about each program.

How do Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compare? 

For starters, and this should be obvious, Apple CarPlay is compatible with Apple products. So the iPhone 7, 8, X, etc. will work with Apple CarPlay. Android Auto works for Android smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the LG V30. After that, their similarities run somewhat parallel but there are some differentiating factors. What Nissan vehicles have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto? 

As you can see, Android Auto is very similar to Apple CarPlay, but it has some options that just aren’t available elsewhere. Nonetheless, both programs do a great job at integrating many of your mobile apps into your car and many Nissan vehicles come available with both systems. The following Nissan models are compatible with Apple CarPlay: 

  • 2017-18 Nissan Maxima 
  • 2017.5-18 Nissan Murano 
  • 2018 Nissan GT-R 
  • 2018 Nissan Kicks 
  • 2018 Nissan Leaf 
  • 2018 Nissan Rogue 
  • 2019 Nissan Altima

  • 2018-19 Nissan Altima 
  • 2018 Nissan Leaf 
  • 2018 Nissan Maxima
