New Nissan Kicks and Sentra Top Safety Picks!

Nissan Kicks and Sentra Chosen for Top Safety!

Two new Nissan models – the new 2018 Nissan Kicks and the 2019 Nissan Sentra compact – have been named the latest Top Safety Picks by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety! This award is the second-highest award that the IIHS has to offer! Drivers that get behind the wheel of these excellent vehicles will have peace of mind knowing they are secure! Continue reading to learn more about these two amazing vehicles and their safety performance!

The Safety Tests!

To qualify for the Top Safety Pick award, vehicles must receive a rating of “good” in five different crash tests. It also needs to have an available front crash prevention system, and that system needs to earn a rating of “superior or advanced” at the least. They must also receive at least “good” or “acceptable” ratings in their headlight testing.

Both the Nissan Kicks and the Nissan Sentra aced the five crash tests, and they also received great ratings in a front crash prevention system test. However, they only got an “acceptable” rating for their headlights, which denied them the Top Safety Pick Plus, the highest award offered of the IIHS. Despite this, these two vehicles are still amazing in terms of safety and security!

Safety Features on the new Nissan Kicks and Nissan Sentra

Both the 2018 Nissan Kicks and the 2019 Nissan Sentra have a ton of amazing safety features and technologies to offer! These safety features come in a variety of packages, from driver’s assistance programs to braking and airbag technologies. One of these features is the exceptional Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system, with another being the Traction Control System (TCS). Both keep the vehicle stable, and in control when you hit rough terrain!
