What is Nissan’s Rear Door Alert System?

Join us here at Nissan Guam as we take a look at Nissan’s all-new Rear Door Alert technology.

At Nissan Guam, your safety has always been our number one priority. Nissan vehicles have always been known for their high safety ratings, and we expect the 2018 Pathfinder to be no different. While we won’t have the 2018 Pathfinder until later on this fall, we encourage you to check out our 2017 models which are just as amazing as we know the 2018 model will be. What is Rear Door Alert?

Have you ever left anything in the backseat? We have too, don’t worry. And so have a couple of the engineers at Nissan. After accidentally leaving a pan of food in the backseat overnight, two engineers at Nissan returned to their vehicle to find an unpleasant smell. They knew there had to be a way to make sure this never happened to anyone again. These two engineers have created a Rear Door Alert system that is able to inform you if anything has been left in the back.

How Does Rear Door Alert Work?

When equipped with the Rear Door Alert, the 2018 Pathfinder will be able to remember when doors are opened and closed and is able to react accordingly. For example, if you open and close at least one of the back doors, before departing and do not open and close the door after you arrive at your destination, the RDA system will activate.

The activation of the RDA system can be customized to fit your preferences so if you don’t always want an audible alert, you can put it on silent. When customizing the RDA system, you’ll even be able to choose to have it temporarily disabled if you know you’re going to be keeping something in your back seat.

While we all wait for the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder, feel free to check out our impressive array of Nissan vehicles. We’ve got a vehicle that is sure to fit your family’s needs, and our financing options ensure you won’t go over budget when getting your new car, truck, or SUV. If you’ve had your eye on one of our vehicles, you can schedule a test drive right from our website! All you need to do is choose the time and day, and we’ll take care of the rest.
