The Nissan Altima, as mentioned above, has had the same engine for a long time, though they have been tweaked and updated to keep up with modern competitors. However, the new 2019 Nissan Altima model will be changing that! The new engines available will be four-cylinder engines, which includes a 2.5-liter engine and a 2.0-liter turbo engine. These engines will replace the previous 2.5-liter four-cylinder and the 3.5-liter V6 engine that was previously offered.
This 2.0-liter turbo engine, the replacement for the 3.5-liter V6 engine, is the same engine that appeared in the new 2019 INFINITI QX60. Additionally, the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine will have the same block and cylinder head as the old engine, but Nissan claims that 95% of the parts have been upgraded and replaced.
The 2019 Nissan Altima has more than just an upgraded list of engines! It also will be the first Nissan sedan on the market to offer an Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive system, which makes it unique as far as its model lineup goes! This places it in the same category as some of its bigger name competitors, who offer a similar system.
