What’s New About the 2019 Nissan Altima?

Sometimes a new year’s model offers only a few cosmetic changes and tweaks, other times it feels like a complete overhaul. There are also times when it straddles the mid-point of introducing new, fun features without reinventing the wheel.

That was the thought behind the 2019 Nissan Altima, more options and features are coming this year, but it will still feel like the Altima you knew before. Borrowing some ideas from other successful Nissan models, the Altima is positioned to be one of the top sedans on the market. So, that begs the question, what’s new about the 2019 Nissan Altima?

What’s New About the 2019 Nissan Altima?

Rather than rebuilding the car, Nissan sought to redefine the 2019 Nissan Altima and how it feels. The company took a note from the LEAF and focused on their Intelligent Mobility to help improve the feeling of how the Altima is driven and how it feels to drive it. ProPILOT Assist helps the driver manage the workload of the car by monitoring the amount of acceleration, steering, and braking under certain conditions like single-lane highway driving. These systems don’t replace the need for a driver, but it certainly helps reduce the workload.

Of course, the 2019 Nissan Altima doesn’t skimp on the interior. Inside the Altima is on par with luxury cars as far as design and material go. A driver-assist display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Zero Gravity seat design help give the Altima a spaceship-like feel as you climb in. It also has remote start, leather-appointed seat inserts, and 8-way driver’s seat with memory.
