Nissan is no stranger to crowd-sourced concept vehicles and the newest variation of the Armada is the most recent example. The idea of this version of the Armada is for it to act as both an ideal off-roading machine and a hospitable mobile campsite. Keep reading to learn more.

It all started with a stock 2018 Nissan Armada with AWD. A massive 5.6-liter V8 engine with 390 horsepower comes standard and matted to a seven-speed automatic transmission. With that as the base, Nissan then added in 17-inch Icon Bronze Rebound wheels to go along with 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler Tires, Icon coil-over suspension, extended A-arms, a Calmini six-inch lift kit, and minimal changes to the Armada’s original drivetrain. There, you got that all?

Those additions are all meant to conquer the trails. We said that the Armada Mountain Patrol was the ideal off-roading SUV and we weren’t lying. But hey, it’s about accessorizing, too. From fan voting, Nissan determined the finishing details for its new concept. Baja Designs aux lights, Calmini steel bumpers and rock rails, and a Hi-Lift jack are all present as well. Oh, remember how we mentioned “mobile campsite” above? Well, the Armada Mountain Patrol also comes with a roof-mounted four-person Mt. Shasta tent (see below), ARB refrigerator, ARB twin-screw air compressor, a Rhino Back Batwing awning, and Pelican 1650 hard cases.
This vehicle is still in the infancy stages in terms of being available on the market. We don’t yet know pricing details or an official release date, but we do know that the Armada Mountain Patrol is expected to make several stops at auto events throughout the summer.
