How often should you get your tires rotated/balanced?

Just like many other regular maintenance services, tire rotation/balance has a recommended time frame to follow. Mechanics recommend that you get your tires rotated and balanced every six months or every 6,000 to 8,000 miles. However, depending on the type and year of your vehicle, this number could be different. Check your owner’s manual for the recommended time frame for your vehicle.

Signs Your Tires Need to be Rotated

There are three signs that tell you that your tires need to be rotated. First sign is uneven tread wire between tires. Not only will one side of the tire be more worn, one tire may be more worn down than another. The second sign is vehicle vibration. When driving at 45 mph or faster, you will start to feel your vehicle vibrating. Third sign in pressure loss. If one tire is losing air pressure faster than the others, they may need to be rotated. Check for any punctures as well.

Signs Your Tires Need to be Balanced

There are few signs to tell if your tires are out of balance. First, you will feel vehicle vibration in the steering wheel, floorboard or your seat when driving at higher speeds. Second, you’ll hear a buzzing or humming noise when you feel vibration. Third, you’ll notice that one side of a tire is more worn down than the other side. Finally, if one tire is losing air pressure, it can cause an unbalanced driving experience.
